Hong Kong

Hong Kong – The Pearl River Delta region is the busiest place on Earth! Along with Macau,
Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and other cities in Guangdong, Hong Kong continues to be
an exciting, crazy city. With so many different kinds of people living there, Hong Kong has
established itself as a food capital in the world. Dim sum, steamed on the street in
countless stalls and restaurants, is the go to dish while visiting Hong Kong.

Sanya

Sanya – the southernmost city on beautiful Hainan Island, Sanya, has emerged as the
ultimate holiday destination. Especially in winter months! While most of the northern
hemisphere hunkers down for a dreary winter season, Sanya welcomes any and all to come
and enjoy the breathtaking beaches, blue skies and even bluer waters for a fun filled holiday
escape. And the food….oh my! Fresh fruit and amazing seafood is available any day of the
year. Go to any fish market on Hainan, and check out the day’s catch – fish, crabs, shellfish.
Everything needed for a seafood feast!

Guangzhou

Guangzhou – Welcome to Canton! This vibrant metropolis has been the gateway to the
world for over 2,200 years. From the Silk Road to the major industrial Alpha city that it is
today, Guangzhou is home to over 13 million residents, including many from other provinces
in China, as well as all over the world.

Guangzhou

Guangzhou – not only a major city for commerce and high tech and international trade,
Guangzhou is home to many amazing and delightful culinary treats. With so many cultures
and world people settling in this area, it has grown to be both exciting and culturally
stimulating. With a long history of food and drink, dining in Guangzhou is quite an exciting
experience. From simple dumplings to fresh seafood, from its own style of dim sum,
travelers must loosen those belts and dig in!

Hainan

Hainan – traveling through Hainan Island, one sees and smells and tastes such an amazing
variety of fresh fruit. And many are sliced and diced and cleaned right in front of you. Fresh
coconut milk anyone? It was here that I had the sweetest litchi fruits I had ever tasted
before. I didn’t know if these litchis were actually grown on Hainan, or brought over from
neighboring Guangdong. I know many areas of the world today now grow litchi trees and
enjoy the sweet fruit, with the perfume smell..

Guizhou Province

Guizhou Province – traveling to Guizhou Province in the southern parts of China, makes
one really appreciate the overall diversity of this land. Not only the diversity of its people
(maybe the most diverse of any province), but also the diverse ecosystem at work – the land
is filled with forests and farmland. For bird watchers, this is the place in China. Watching
farmers on the way to the market, like their forefathers long before them, is also a way to
appreciate everything here.

Guizhou

Guizhou – with Guiyang as the capital city, this province has Han, Miao, Buyei, Dong, Tujia,
Yi and more different people with various ethnic backgrounds. The variety of different
language dialects and clothes and food, make this quite an interesting area for studying
culture and people. The farmers here, like farmers all over the world, work harder than most.
Yet they still manage to greet strangers and welcome them as old friends

Guilin

Guilin – with long, humid summers and wet wet wet rainy seasons, Guilin can be a difficult
travel destination for some. But ignoring this area means ignoring beautiful forests, lovely
scenery and the meandering and gorgeous Yulong River. Rafting down the Yulong in
Yangshuo County is quite an experience.
